Steve Goode is the West Midlands Regional Offender Manager, leading the West Midlands team to deliver NOMS aims locally.

The West Midlands ROM's role

Steve Goode's responsibilities include:

  • commissioning services from prisons and probation areas in both the public and private sector
  • holding prisons and probation areas accountable to ensure they deliver on performance
  • developing 'contestability' - allowing service providers to compete for work to drive performance

This approach ensures NOMS obtains the very best value for money in managing offenders, both in custody and in the community.
